Thirdy Ravena officially announced his commitment to join Ateneo for his collegiate career in a move that will form a sibling tandem with his older brother and Blue Eagles star Kiefer.
Ravena, who won the UAAP juniors Most Valuable Player for the Ateneo Blue Eaglets, made his announcement yesterday through Twitter where he expressed his excitement to play alongside his celebrated brother who had led Ateneo to two championships.
The 16-year old is the first major recruit of the Blue Eagles, who are reportedly pursuing San Beda Red Cubs star Arvie Tolentino, National University guard Hubert Cani and Hope Christian High School’s Clint Dolinguez and John Apacible.
Ateneo is out to bounce back after missing the Final Four for the first time since 1998.
Meanwhile, four-peat seeking La Salle humbled winless University of the East, 25-12, 25-18, 25-20, to complete a seven-game sweep of the first round in yesterday’s women’s volleyball action at The Arena in San Juan. (Jonas Terrado)
