Kid Molave scored an easy ten-length victory over four other contenders in last Sunday’s Philtobo Juvenile Championship – highlight event of the 4th Philtobo Grand Championships Showcasing Future Philippine Equine Champions – at the Santa Ana Saddle & Clubs Leisure Park in Naic, Cavite.
Saddled by star-jockey J.B. Guce and trianed by R.C. Hipolito, Kid Molave registered a time of 1 minute and 42 seconds with quarter times of 26’-23’-24’-26’ for the 1,600-meter race to claim the top prize of P1,780,000 for proud owner Mr. E.A. Santos.
Runnerup 4th Pick and come-from-behind Fairy Star received R675,000 for Bong Lapuz while 3rd and 4th placers Matang Tubig and Mr. Bond settled for R375,000 and R150,000, respectively. The other entry here was Proud Papa.
In the supporting P1-Million Philracom – Philtobo Juvenile Fillies Championship Cup Mr. R.B. Dimacuha’s Up And Away bested 3 other entries to win the top prize of P580,000.
Only the 3rd favorite in the betting, Up And Away finished the 1,600-meter Race in 1 minute and 42.6 seconds. Close runnerup top bet Love No Love received got P225,000 while 3rd and 4th placers The Lady Wins and Newton’s Gal settled for P125,000 and P50,000, respectively.
In the PCSO – Philtobo Classic Cup, it was the heavily favored entry of F.R. Sevilla, Jr.’s Tensile Strength who earned the top prize of P280,000. 2nd to the 4th placers Sulong Pinoy, Spring Collection and Brother Barack received P112,500, P62,500 and P25,000, respectively.
In the Santa Ana-Philtobo 3YO Colts Cup Unthinkable was disqualified and was relegated to 2nd place while longest short Golden Spinx who was declared the winner received the top prize of P220,000 for Mr. Neri.
Finally it was Hermie Esguerra’s Queen Quaker, the top favorite, who won the top prize of P220,000 in the Philtobo 3YO Fillies cup. 2nd to 4th placers Flying Honor, Blush Of Victory and Humble Submission settled for P90,000, P50,000 and P20,000, respectively.
The other big winners here were Miss Manuguit, Jungle Jingle, Caramel, Key Boy, Barcelona, Hello Patrick, Wo Wo Duck, Sahara Nights and Azimuth.
Bawat karera dito ay may donations ranging from P10,000 to P20,000 to the “Yolanda” victims.
Ang 1st to 3rd sets ng WTA sa araw na ito ay nagbigay ng dibidendong P825.40, P2,070.60 at P21,322.40, ayon sa pagkakasunod-sunod.
