Cagayan Valley stakes its unbeaten record against a debuting Navy squad while Far Eastern University and Philippine Air Force try to barge into the win column when they clash today in the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

The Rising Suns square off with Navy at 4 p.m. while the Lady Tams and the Air Women tangle at 2 p.m. with both teams seeking a first win after dropping their first two games.

Cagayan dealt powerhouse Smart its first loss in four outings with a gallant 25-23, 26-24, 25-20 win last Tuesday.

The win gave Cagayan a 2-0 record but need two more victories to secure a playoff berth in the quarterfinal round.

Team captain Angeli Tabaquero, Thai import Kannika Thipachot and Aiza Maiza are again expected to spearhead Cagayan after combining for 41 points in their match against Smart.

Coach Nestor Pamilar can also count on Wenneth Eulalio, Pau Soriano and another Thai reinforcement in Phomia Soraya.

Pamilar, however, knows that beating Navy is not an easy task since their rivals are out to create an impact in their opening game.

The Lady Tams nearly pulled off a big win over the Meralco Power Spikers the last time but they ran out of steam and dropped a 25-12, 25-22, 18-25, 23-25, 15-13 decision.
